I'm going to Binibequer, first time in 6 years

Hi All

I am going first 2 weeks in July. I have not been to Menorca in about 6 years. Can anyone tell me if much has changed? We always make our base in Binibecca but always tour the whole island when there. Is Villa Madrid Restuarant still there (Sant Luis)?? Is the cost of everything through the roof?? But most of all can I still buy shoes!!!!

Well I haven't been for 6 years either but being on the site daily I know that i'd be surprised if and when we do get back there to find quite a few changes, mainly the roads I think.

But one thing I do know is ...............YES YOU CAN STILL BUY SHOES

There might be one or two things that you notice that have changed. There's the odd bar opened and some closed. I did notice a new shop/cafe being built in the Vell last year.

Most importantly, the beach bar is still there!! Easily the best place in the world for a sundown drink after a hard day of relaxing!

The new building at the Vell is being built by my good friend Andreas from El Faros in Cala Torret. And for all of Andreas's friends I still don't know, he still does not know if he will be at El Faros or his new place this year.

Changes, Villa Madrid has changes hands a couple of times lately so won't know anything until it opens, or not.

The Palomino bar has changed hands, which can only be for the better.

The Bini Inn near the Vell has been shut for a couple of years now, but last time I passed there looked to be major work going on, but what I don't know.

Other wise everything is much the same as last time you went.

I hope Andreas does stay at El Faros. The place has never been as good.

If he isn't at El Faros he'll be in the new place at Binibequer Vell.

I was out there easter weekend and Andreas was open down at the old place on the terrace at Cala Torret. If the really large new build on the right at the top of Binibequer Vell (same side at the big supermarket) is going to be Andreas new place then it looks to be some way from completion, at best I would say mid season, looks impressive though. Na Rosa, Pedros and Taberna Del Corso were all open again supporting the early visitors but sadly I was informed that DP wont be opening this year leaving one huge gap to fill on the terrace!

There seems to be a lot of work going on at Bini Inn, hope someone exciting opens up there as it's only a short stroll for us of an evening. Back out again in a few weeks and will keep the group posted if there is anything to report.

The new place at Binibequer Vell is on hold for a while So Andreas will be in Cala Torret all this year at least. I'm surprised that DP is closed that place used to be a gold mine. The building work at the old Bini inn seems to have been going on for some time.
