Lockdown Spanish/English Lessons

Hi All We have been coming to Menorca for over 10 years, first bought a house in Galdana, then moved to Cala Llonga 2018. We are in lockdown UK, and getting used to the idea we may not be able to use our house or boat in Menorca this year! Our daughter is offering language lessons, either to learn S...

DINGHY SAILING/CREWING/DINGHY FOR SALE

Hello Looking forward to semi-retiring in 2019 and will be able to spend more time in Menorca... we have owned on the island for 7 years (Galdana) but recently sold and bought in Cala Llonga area. Are any members into dinghy sailing, and if so Fornells or Mahon? Are there any sailing clubs with a ra...

Yes that's my next post - what's happening with tv and the reduced satellite coverage? We've just done our first season and would have loved some English telly even just news. Has anyone tried the monthly subscription to VPN providers so you get piped tv via laptop or pc?

Re: Help - Winter Planning

Hi Neil Thanks for posting your message, can you provide a few more details: 1. Do you keep one dehumidifier upstairs, one downstairs? Or different parts of the house? 2. Do your dehumidifiers drain via pipes or collection trays (I have one in the UK which shuts off when the tray is full - but the t...

Help - Winter Planning

Hello All, Sorry to even mention the dreaded W word, but with last two days rain I've been thinking ahead for our first Winter lock up of our house - what is the advice for limiting damp: Option 1 - close all shutters but keep lots of inner windows open for air flow, or as our pool guy suggested, Op...

Re: Help on setting up (holiday) home... Lots of questions!

We have found the sane problems. Even though there's a recession and high unemployment building and labour is very expensive. To save money I'm painting our house as the labour cost was silly. I am sure it will all be worth it in the long term but our project was more expensive than planned. We kept...

Re: Help on setting up (holiday) home... Lots of questions!

Not wishing to be too nosey, could you confirm whether you paid the asking price or was there room for negotiation... any information would be really useful.

Thanks!

Re: Help on setting up (holiday) home... Lots of questions!

Thanks - I know it well after many visits to Palliser choosing floor and bathroom tiles!

Cheers, Paul
