Can i ask did La Caixa charge you anything did you close your account with them. I take it none of your money from the sale went into La Caixa.

When I looked into selling our place, i was informed that I would have to keep my bank account open has the refund from the 3% tax would only be paid into a Spanish bank account. Don't know if this is true.

I would not worry to much, they told me the same thing last year and also that I could do it online it never worked online. I was assured they would not stop the direct debits.
