Re: Spanish Restaurant tips !

I also would really recommend C'an Bernat (on the Mao - Cala'n Porter road) at the Son Vitamina roundabout. Last year my husband ordered the Steak Tournados - it was immense and amazing. I had Rabbit (which was great but I wish I'd had the steak) and my 11 yo son declared the steak burgers with Mao ...

Re: A May to forget this year!

Self catering all the way for me too. My favourite part of the day is venturing out for something lovely to eat in one of Menorca's many excellent restaurants, or going to the supermarket in Mao to buy some lovely grub for the BBQ.

7 weeks, 5 days and counting.........

Re: Cala'n Porter, Arenal Castell, S'Algar or Punta Prima?

I know everyone is generally going to point you in the direction of their favourite resort and I'm no different. If you have to stay in a hotel, pick Arenal - the beach / scenery / restaurants / bars are all worth it. (I hate hotels though - and I know the Aguamarina, although I've never stayed ther...

Re: WHO IS GOING TO SON BOU 2011 & WHAT DATES

22nd July - 5th Aug. Will be on the beach most days.

We don't stay there - but spend all our beach days there. I think it is SOOOOO beautiful.

Re: June 2011

Gorgeous beach, hire a pedalo and explore the rocky coastline, hire a car for a couple of days so you get to see the rest of this amazing Island. There's as much entertainment as you want really - hotels have shows / singers most nights, plenty of bars around the resort with entertainment too. Some ...

Re: tavel inusurance recomendations

Like Grumps, ours is covered through our Bank a/c. All the family, every trip, home and abroad. Even visiting relatives is covered. I used to buy an annual policy from Sainsbury's when it was about £70 for the 3 of us, again unlimited trips, home and abroad, but the price went up substantially, e...

Re: TOUTS & PR'S??

There are guys on the more popular beaches (Arenel d'en Castell & Son Bou), occasionally trying to sell sunglasses but once you say "no thanks" they move along quickly enough.

That's the only kind of hassle we've ever had in 8 years.
