Re: What's it like there over the Xmas break?

Hi Rick We realise that it may be too quiet during the winter months, for some, but if you know where to look there does always seem to be something going on, even off-season. This is a good website http://www.nanventura.es/ca/inici although it is all in Catalan  so you will need to use Google ...

Re: What's it like there over the Xmas break?

Hi and a Happy New Year! Just adding my observations to the Christmas/NYE subject  We've a holiday home on the island and have spent each festive season in Menorca over the last 17 years. We've noticed that's there more importance put on Christmas Eve celebrations than on Christmas Day itself ...

Re: Compostela opening

Hi Opening this late in the year is certainly a new development, as far as I'm concerned. Although I know that Es Forn Restaurant in Torre Soli is also staying open at weekends throughout this winter. We always visit for Christmas, and usually the only place open is the little bakery, Mon-Fri, betwe...

Re: It’s quiet around here

Hi Symey

He'll be in the 222 restaurant premises. He's officially announced he's moving from Son Bou now, so let's hope someone takes the empty building on!

Re: It’s quiet around here

I think business owners in the resort, and probably across the whole island, are feeling unsettled following the collapse of Thomas Cook and the uncertainty of Brexit that keeps rumbling on, and on..... and it's a possibility there may be some changes afoot next year :???: Apparently this will...

Re: What’s changed in 15 years?

No problem! To be honest, the parking situation should be fine if you avoid July and August. Although parking at Cala Galdana seems to be dicey most of the year, for some reason, but I don't think you should have a problem at the other Southern beach resorts. And you can navigate through Ciut...

Re: What’s changed in 15 years?

Hi Evasmum Not sure what resort/town you used to stay in, but there have been a few changes over the last 15 years, some good, others not so  In general, there are far more good places to eat these days, with a much wider selection of cuisines. I remember my first visit, about 25 years ago, whe...

Re: Off-Shore Inflatable Thingy

The banana boat was well and truly whizzing along the shore of Son Bou beach when we were there earlier this month, so the killjoys have obviously relented somewhat!

Re: Christmas festivities

There’s always something going on, but generally the ajuntaments don’t publish details until nearer the time. All towns have their own council (ajuntament) website with a diary of events by date (although you may have to use Google translate to work out what’s happening). http://www.alaior.org/agend...
