S'Escopinya
S'Escopinya
Our favourite haunt in Cala Galdana is the S'Escopinya bakery. We haven't been to Cala Galdana for three years so the all important question is, on behalf of my 12 year old, do they still do "Paellador" paellas? I know these aren't "proper" paellas and that there are much better ones available in restaurants but he is so much looking forward to his paella fideguay that we need to know he can still have one otherwise he will be majorly disappointed. Also any ideas where I can find the e-mail address, as the owner keeps a bag of our gear out there for us and I'd like to know if its still there!

Well Raquel, they were still doing them when we were over last September but perhaps one of our other members can update you for this year soon ...

Re: S'Escopinya
did you have a curry instead then ?
Old Sea-dog.
Still looking for my next boat
looks like it may be a canal barge now ?
1994 - 1st time at Tony's Restaurant, just past the old Gavilanes.
Great food and views. especially at night.

Re: S'Escopinya
No! The curries are supposed to be v good but I can have them at home - sad they have moved away from being a bakery
Re: S'Escopinya
I can get paellas and loads of Spanish food at home but I know it's not the same
but still good to eat, try a curry in the Menorca sun, beats my local any day.
Have you been up to the lower decking on your fav hotel yet and tried out the rocking chairs ?
I'm on count down now with only 4 weeks to go
have a good won R

Re: S'Escopinya
No I haven't been up to the new pool and decking - thought you had to pay some extortionate amount to get in

You don't have to pay to sit on the left side of the decking, as you walk up the steps or the slope,
rocking chairs and really comfy sofas to use, with good waiter service and really nice views of the bay
from a different height.
Try it, we visit often, after having lunch at Tony's bar, just for a change of view.
only have a coffee, as the prices were higher but may be different this year.
The people that use the small pool on the front, pay a really big amount of money
when they have a beach in front to use for free !
but if you have money to waste and look cool
Also if you are there having a drink, you can use their posh loo, just ask for a swipe card
and refresh in style....beats the others !
Also make sure you have a biscuit with the coffee, they some times forget
