cala'n Bosc Hotel fefurbishment!

We were at this hotel in July and again in September , the hotel closed a few weeks earlier than usual , although the resort was quite busy.We were told that the hotel was closing early as it was going to be refurbished, can anyone tell me if this correct , we have stayed at the Cala'n Bosc Hotel many times and although we love it , it could do with some tlc.thanks,, woolieb

If I remember correctly this hotel is part of the Hi Hotel group that also run Los delfines hotel and binimar in CnF.
There seems to be some confusion regarding next years availability as none of their hotels are taking bookings for May or October at the moment. We were told that the Los delfines hotel was being refurbished, but I suspect (in my opinion) it may well be the same silly government tax loop hold that closed down the Los Lentiscos apartments last year and again this coming season were they can only trade from the 1st June until 30th September (4 months).
I can't possibly tell you what this crazy law is, as when the owner of Lentiscos tried to explain it to me, even he got himself in a muddle
Seems to be just another silly ruling that is keeping tourist away in the quieter months.
We go to CnF every year in May but at this moment in time, we are really struggling to find any apartments that will be open, only independently run ones or the Thomson run ones

I would say that it would be a strong chance of that. I do have a contact at hi Hotels so if I find any news out I will keep you posted

Thank yo for your help, it would be nice if there was some refurbishment going on as the hotel is quite dated, but even if not we will go back as we feel very comfortable there .Have a great new year

I have been in touch with my contact at the Hi Hotels today, and he has told me that the Cala'n Bosc Hotel will be opening this year from May 1st until approx last weekend in September.
He has not heard of any refurbishments taking place to any one particular hotel, but apparently the Hi group of hotels are having cosmetic work done (tidying up pool areas, re-painting,etc) so Cala'n Bosc might be one of them.
Hope this puts your mind at rest a little, and I did notice that Travel republic have started to book them now for this coming season
