As a man of my word, we returned from a week in CnB last night and a very pleasant week it was too, although it didn't start off so well as a massive thunderstorm over Menorca last Friday night meant we couldn't land and were diverted to Mallorca airport where we landed, refuelled and waited for an hour for the storm to pass.

We've always stayed in the South East before but went for a change this week as we're returning in July to CnP. That meant this holiday had to be done on a budget and we went half board to Nuramar appts. As a result, I can't offer much in the way of restaurant advice other than La Fontana where we had an excellent and very good value pizza and salad one lunchtime with excellent service in a very nice environment.

The Nuramar apartments were ok, if a little basic and it took us three days and three moans to get the missus the hairdryer which should have been in the room anyway. Lovely private, spacious sun terrace was a bonus and the food was fine, with good meal choices and polite and helpful staff.

As a first timer to CnB, I didn't much enjoy having to run the gauntlet of waiters down on the marina every night trying to entice you into the restaurant and eventually gave it a wide berth altogether. The harbour was pretty quiet generally with only Chaplins seeming to be consistently busy although it's obviously still early in the season. Aquarium hadn't opened at all and Toro Negro only opened on the Thursday night.

A mention must go to Don Carlos' bar though for being, the best, most comfortable and friendliest bar we visited.

A couple of drives out to Cala Blanca (which was delightful) and Sa Caleta broke up the week along with other trips to Lithica (fantastic and highly recommended), Ferreries (likewise, a much prettier town than I'd imagined with a charming town square and cafes) and a bus ride to Ciutadella one evening costing just E1.95 and taking only 20 mins.

The weather was generally good but very windy all week! All in all a lovely week and it was great to see the other side of the island for a change!

Cheers,

Rich.

Thanks Rich...

appreciate you taking the time to update

We keep meaning to catch a summer evening concert at Lithica so will once more add it to our try-to-do list!

Thanks for posting update.
Yes, Ferreries is nice for a wander around.
Lithica, haven't been but will keep it in mind after your recommendation.
