2nd year running and great photo ideas
2nd year running and great photo ideas
Hi, me and my family will be back at the Binimar for the 2nd year running on the 6th June for two weeks. The area is perfect for my young kids cant believe it gets a bad rep most times.
I'm a keen photographer and due to only having a week last year and no car we only got as far as Cituadella so didn't get any chance to take any photos that didn't have my kids eating ice-cream in. Has anyone any tips of places that would make good picture (is the lighthouse at the north west of the island accessible?)
Thank you in advance

Cala Morell and La Vall, both on the north coast over at your end, spring to mind. At La Vall try and find the path from the car park that goes up the hill, great views at the top.
At Cala Morrell there is the necropolis caves, and if you walk along the headland towards the point you'll find some interesting rock formations.

Ditto and Pont den Gil

The lighthouse north of Ciutadella, Punta Nati is easy to drive to and the area is quite interesting, an almost lunar type landscape, lots of old stone buildings which I think were built originally as animal shelters. We spent a couple of hours wandering around up there one cloudy day a couple of years go. The lighthouses of Cavalleria and particularly Favaritx are worth a visit too if you fancy a day out.
Cala Morrel is definitely worth a vist, the caves are interesting and there is a bar overlooking the bay, though I've found service is either excellent or dire.

The waiter walked past us twice....
in the end I got up and ordered at the bar
I was going to get up and bugger off just before the waiter finally came out with our order, but the wife said NO

Same for us on our second visit, and it wasn't even because we are English, he ignored a Spanish family next to us too.

Thanks for all your replys, Cavalleria looks very interesting, is it possible to drive the whole way up to the lighthouse?

Yup you can drive all the way and just to the left of the lighthouse is a cave which goes out into the cliff face, be careful not to fall.
