Poppies at Cala Pregonda

Post by nottoobad » May 11th, 2016, 3:08 pm

Spent the day at Cala Pregonda yesterday, the Binimel La restaurant is open and was very busy, brilliant restaurant. Also, in the field at the front of the restaurant is a stunning display of poppies, best we have seen this year, ( don't seem able to attach photos here), on Pregonda beach though, nuddy sunbathing :susies: .......didn't know it was a naturist beach...more than that....it was sunny but the breeze made it still abit nippy noodles....  .....

The poppies can give us a great display when they get their act together  and as for naturist's you'll find them on most "out of the way" beaches and coves.

Oh and you should be able to attach a photo now.

What a glorious display. I just love them. We have tried sowing them various years and never had any luck.

Lovely pic  Apparently poppies will only grow on fresh land.

That could explain Ladyrose why I have never had much luck with them.

No apparently needed you just have to look at any groundwork that has 'over wintered' to see which plant first colonises it.

And Nottoobad, I'll have you know that I am "stunning" :yawinkle: even me pup thinks so

Not a lot of people know this...but...apparently images of Cala Pregonda were used on both Mike Oldfield's Incantations albums, the first one he did was with himself at the fore front, the second one he decided Cala Pregonda was awesome enough on it's own....good decision Mike........

Hey Slarti, I had heard on the grapevine that you have taken up the new PDSA initative, ie joined the guideperson for blind pups programme   , ............aahhhhh bet your little pup does think you are lovely too, what breed is he/she/?
