Restaurants near Son Vitamina

Hello Everyone,

I normally stay in the North of the Island, but this July we are staying at a villa in Son Vitamina near San Clemente.

Can anyone on the forum recommend any good restaurants within a 10/15 minute drive? Don't mind price but do want quality and would prefer a traditional Menorcan menu.

Any recommendations would be gratefully received.

Can Bernat on the roundabout about 2 mins outside of Son Vitamina is good.

I was searching the Forum and found some really good reviews of a restaurant called "Opera Due" in Son Vitamina, but they were all from 2007.

Do I assume it's not operating any longer?

NO Opera DUE is closed down in Son Vitamina it has opened up on the Port of Mahon now.

Es Moli de Foc or the Casino in San Clemente.
Alaior has Cobblers and C'an Jaumet which are good.
A little further afield, No. 58 S'Engolidor in Es Migjorn, C'an Olga and Las Vegas in Mercadal.

Had a great couple of weeks.

Loved C'an Bernat - amazing views and delicious meat and wine. Really good service too. I'll go back there again.

Thought the Casino in Sant Clemente was divine and what a lovely little town it is too. It felt like I was in "real" Spain if that makes any sense.

Was disappointed with Ca Na Marga in Ses Salines this year though. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night but one or two of the waiters acted as though we were really lucky to be there and came over all pretentious on us and served us so quickly that we were rushed though our food.

Perhaps if I'd been dressed in a boob tube and micro mini I could understand it, but we always dress smartly for dinner. I couldnt understand their "you're so lucky we have a table" attitude, especially as there were only about 10 tables occupied and a couple reserved. Very strange.

We visited Sa Gavina several times too and I've put my review of that in the Arenel section.

Did you go at the time of Fornells Fiesta?

No - we actually went to the Fiesta ourselves. I know that Ca Na Marga gets really busy at weekends, so we deliberately went on a Tuesday night.

I'm sure it was just a one off - I'll try it again next summer 'cos the food is so good.

I am curious my self
I always felt that the staff were quite good in there.
The reason I asked about the fiesta is that maybe they were fed up that they had to work that night.
