Xuroy; does it still...

Post by taffsandy » March 29th, 2013, 10:04 pm

Hi All ( I'm back on here after a number of years away)
We've been back to our favourite Xuroy a couple of times since and in fact have booked again for this year, however, word has reached us that the "Happy hour" that we used to enjoy there, has been stopped ! Anyone know if that's true?

Thanks, for your info:
Xuroy is a small family run hotel at Cala Alcaufar that, because it has no entertainment for children ( apart from the beach and a pool), is mainly favoured by my ( older) generation.
I just wondered if the happy hour WAS stopped and if so was it because someone got "silly".
No matter, we're going anyway.

Can't be absolutely certain (too much time spent enjoying it) but I and the lady wife believe Happy Hour was still there last July.

Like the the author of this thread we're great fans of the Xuroy. I believe it was the first hotel on the island to cater to the package tour market and it's now run by the third generation of the same family.

Hope anyone who visits enjoys their time there!

Sorry can't help with your query....but we have sat in the shade of the bar on numerous occasions enjoying a cooling drink while the girls messed around on the beach. Enjoy your holiday

Thanks Jack and emma,

You're right Jack, they were doing it last July ( as some photos I took of the wife and I enjoying two jugs of Sangria will testify !), however, someone told me that in about August they stopped it !! ( Pity if they have but not a reason not to return this July ). :finga:

It is a pity if they've stopped the Happy Hour but I can't see why they would have, and it wouldn't stop us going either - we're back there again this summer.

If they have stopped it I think they'll find that people go to one of the bars just up the road where the drink is cheaper, but I doubt we'd do that because you lose out on the view!
