I believe that Andreas Jn, their son will be opening some sort of bar in Binibequer Vell. First building on the right as you enter Binibequer Vell from the beach/Cala Torret side.

Oh that's a shame, I've had many enjoyable times there.

Cala Torret won't be the same.

Wonder what the new place will be like.

I rated their mixed Paella, Anita especially did look like she’d had enough last September (jnr shared the details of his Dad’s painful piles with me as I waited for my bloody steak, cheers!)

The way he described it I think he’s opening something above the Spar. There looked like the shell of a building and a terrace up there.

A smashing family, I’d wish them all luck

Apparently the restaurant is now under new management and being refurbished.
Scheduled to open 27th April.

It will not be the same without our annual visit to see Andreas and Anita. We wish them all the very best for the future and send our thanks for the wonderful welcome we received every time over more than 20yrs.

We will pay them a visit at their home in September and be sure to pass on all the good wishes. :toasting:
I only let him think he's in charge.

I saw a Facebook post saying the restaurant opened last Friday with the new people, they had a few pics of the opening jolly and Andreas senior was there, glass in hand which was a nice touch.

I’ve also heard that Salitra has opened again (not that we ever tried it before) If anyone tries either I’d be interested to know what they thought......and if you got a complimentary snifter and a lovely jubbly when you paid :partyman:

I spoke to the new owners last Friday. They had an invitation only event on Friday then opened fully on Saturday. Heading down there later for dinner.
Salitre opened last Friday too, new owners and new menu. Only visited once under old owners and wasn't impressed. Hopefully better now.
Taberna Del Corso is still really good.

Had a really good meal on Wednesday evening at El Faro. Very quiet but so were most of the restaurants.

I wish them well.
