We were on the island at the weekend and the word on the street is- Bini Inn has been sold, old owners now own something in Cala Torret (Salitre?).

Bini Inn is having what looks like a large extension out toward the sea and doesn’t look like it’ll be open for a while. It has new owners and I was thinking possibly Andreas (Junior or at a push the Parrot) but then I saw junior’s car parked up right next to the new shop and I’d heard he was setting up on their roof terrace.

The plot thickens!

Has anyone got any news/reviews of Andreas new restaurant in Binibeca Vell? I understand that they are up and running, and looking forwards to checking it out when we go to Menorca in September.

We have Spanish friends who tried it last week and said it was similar in some ways to the old El Faro and they thought it was pretty good so I’ll give it a try in the not too distant when I’m there.

We will try it when we are out in September, I understand they have a little baby girl, hope the info was right as we will be taking a little gift for a little girl.

It’s called cafeteria Binibeca Vell and is next to the (newer) Ice cream parlour on the corner. There’s a few photos on Tripadvisor.

I’ve never spoken to Sandra but I’ll find out about possible babies and let you know in the next couple of weeks

We had dinner at Andres’s new place last night. T’was good. Menu del dia for €23 3 courses, bread and half a bottle all as at El Faro before.

We saw his 4 month old SON, confirmed he is definitely not a girl, guess his name, it begins with an ‘A’.

The food seemed generally better than El Faro used to be, certainly more of it. Paella is included in the menu del dia, it was taken off at the old place toward the end.

I’m only here for a few days but I’m back at the far end of next week and I’ll be back there again. It’s another good place within stumbling distance :jozza:

Just back home yesterday. Restaurant, food and service were really good. Never went to El Faro before but impressed with the new place.
