Using NIE numbers for Vueling residents discount

Good morning

Does anyone know if you can use your NIE numbers to claim the Vueling residents discount?

If it is possible do you need the original NIE certificates? We only have a scanned copy emailed to us by the solicitor so I wonder if I need to get the originals off her?

As far as I'm aware you need to be registered as a resident and have your resident card. NIE won't be enough by itself. I might be wrong but I think that's the way it works.

Yes you need to have residencia and empandrinado in your local Ayuntamento.

Which presumably you can only get if you live on the island full time?

Thanks - blooming Monarch have cancelled our flight in December so I'm just looking at other alternatives but the prices are obviously higher now!

Hi, we were on that cancelled flight, Monarch offered to put us on one two days later but after ringing them I managed to get us on the one two days earlier. No extra charges

Now that is annoying because I also phoned them and asked to be transferred to the Boxing Day flight and they said I'd have to pay the difference between what we'd paid for 28th and the more expensive Boxing Day flight! So I cancelled and asked for a refund.

I have now booked to go via Barcelona (and actually paid less than the Monarch flight cost) - it's just annoying as we had onward travel plans so we couldn't take the flight they offered on 30th.
