It's not open yet, (the whole resort is practically dead at the moment), so I guess no-one will know until the new season kicks off.

Just out of curiosity Sue... which Son Bou bars and restaurants have opened up at this time of year? Is it too early for our faves compostela and kit kat at the top, Arthur’s and Las Dunas along the bottom? Hard to imagine the resort quiet when we compare it to our peak season visits!

Hi

Well, we were there last weekend and the only place I know that was open was Mojito, the nightclub next to Boni Indian. But that only opened during the early hours for the influx of local youths over Easter weekend, all other bars and restaurants still had the 'winter wrappings' across the front of their premises. I believe the Budha Lounge and Boni Indian may be opening around 14th April, but some of the other businesses wait until 1st May these days.

It never used to be the case, before the 'crisis' there would always be a few places open at Easter, like the Copacabana (pre-fire), Hawaiian Bar and Arthurs (which even opened at Christmas one year) and of course the bowling alley was open all year round too, back in the day. What's strange now is that other resorts, such as Cala Galdana, Punta Prima, Santo Thomas have at least one restaurant/bar open at Easter (no matter how early in the season it falls) and almost all businesses in Fornells were open. Even Bar Susy at Cala Macarella and the beach bar at Es Grau were open this year and were packed with folk, so Son Bou misses out on quite a bit of custom. But there's obviously a reason why they don't open. Maybe they feel it's not worth opening/employing staff for one long weekend before going back to being deserted for a month before the summer season kicks off. Who knows? :???:

Same people as last year who took it over from Joseph and family? Seemed to be a lack of communication between taking orders and doing the cooking. Not just the one occasion either. Hopefully only teething issues as the 'English' fare was as good as usual. Sourcing lettuce and orange juice seemed to cause particular problems. Nice people though and I wish them all the best. 'Best English Breakfast on the Island' - ? Big claim to make. Good? Yes. The best? Mmmmm.
