Moving to Menorca!

Post by AngieB1 » April 30th, 2017, 7:42 pm

Hi Everyone,

Myself and my husband are looking to move over to Cala en Porter in the near future and I have some questions I wonder if anybody can help me answer.

We have been over and had a look at some villas for sale, but the next step is finding work. I am a qualified Pharmacy Technician with my ACT cert and I am a level 3 technician. Ideally I would like to carry on this career role over in Menorca but I am unsure as to how possible this would be, and if it is something that is very sought after in Menorca?
Would it be easy for me to find work? How is the best way to go about it?

Thank you in advance,

Angie

When we lived in Son Vilar 2010/2012 (In between Es Castell and Mahon (Mao) )The lady in there was English and it was such a relief for the British who found getting their ailments across to the Spanish difficult, I myself was pleased she was there as she helped me find the remedy I wanted, all the best for the future and hopefully one of the chemists will give you a chance.
I only let him think he's in charge.

Thank you for your reply, that is good to hear!
Should we look to learn Spanish before we move over?

I think you'll find that most people will tell you that to work over there it would be much better if you know some Spanish. I think it would also be easier to find work if you can. So yes, i'd start learning  Good luck anyway
I'll stop moaning, when you give me a pay rise this :arms: big

I would go and talk to a Pharmacist in person, you will definitely need a good grasp of Castilian if not Catalan and be aware that some qualifications will not be automatically accepted, you may have to re-sit then in Catalan.
