MENORCA LIFE BLOG Feb 13, 2014

Post by ladyrose » February 13th, 2014, 8:23 pm

TODAYS WAFFLE.
There must be something about this time of the day that makes me go deep and meaning full.
While I was out walking the dogs tonight I watched a pair of buzzards playing tag in the sky.
It took me to thinking what it must be like to be as free as this pair?
We all live with the drudgery of every day life.
But this pair of birds can go where ever they wish.
And indeed do.
They come back to the same nest every year and, each day they give us something spectacular to watch.
I am not going to say where their nest is or I will driven insane by twitchers.
They are not at all helpful when it comes to photographing them.
As soon as I see them playing I tear into the house to get my camera and zoom lens.
Because it is only when they play with each other that they come down low enough to photograph.
But as sure as night comes around each day, the minute I run into the house they disappear.
In all my years in this house I have only managed to get one shot that remotely looks like a buzzard.
Can you imagine how frustrating that is.

Anyhow enough of that waffle.
Today I had to take my 10 year old 3 and a half legged Springer Spaniel to the vet because out new baby Max the 10 month old German Shepard got to like her a bit too much.
I have been watching both very closely and I was under the impression he had no idea what his equipment was for YET!!!!.(NOPE I WAS WRONG) Anyhow I turned my back for a second only to be greeted with
Fifty got 1 injection this morning and is to get another tomorrow morning all for the grand price of €80 euros each time
Sometimes I think we must be mad with all these animals.
Why did my Son not become a vet it could have saved me a fortune.
Ok I better give it a rest there is only so much Poop one can read in an evening

Red Kites!!!!

I love floating about in the pool and watching red kites overhead. They often seem to fight with Egyptian Vultures.

Where I live in England are several pairs. Love, love love it.

I thought Egyptian Vultures were black and white with yellow beaks like this one?
