What a disaster

Post by ladyrose » January 31st, 2016, 11:41 am

The next installment of my waffle goes like this.

Last Sunday my friend arrived for 5 days I was so looking forwards it.
I woke up Sunday morning feeling really tired.( I thought I had overdone it with the Spring clean before she came)
Monday morning felt like boiled poop so decided I best go to the doctors.
Could not get an appointment until the evening so had to go back.

I had planned to do a nice Burns Night supper on Monday in the evening,I had arranged Haggis Nips and Tatties.
There were to be 8 of us.
I was also doing it as a little going away party for my brother who was leaving the island on Friday to go back to Barcelona.
Needless to say I had to cancel it and told everyone I would do it on Wednesday instead.( by then I would feel better)
By 9pm on Monday night I had to apologise to my friend and went to bed.

That is where I have pretty much stayed ever since.
This is the Flu from HELL!!!!!!
On Friday morning at 8am I had to go into Alaior and wave my brother off.(I thought I would die getting there)
On Friday evening my friend left for her flight and I could not even go to the airport.
The whole time she was here if I spent an hour with her I would be surprised.
What a shame she came all the way to Menorca to see me and spent 2 days with my brother driving her around

This is just the worst flu I ever heard of.
Headaches vomiting and the other  dizzy spells ,massive temps a couch that would rattle your bones, helllllllllllllllllllpppppppppppppp.

THIS BE SOME KIND OF MENORCAN FLU

Now I find out this morning my brother had to go to the hospital in Barcelona this morning with the same as me.
My friend has gone back to the Uk and she was at the docs yesterday with the same.

You have to admit at least I shared

I am just glad I cancelled the others not to come for the Burns Night or they would have gotten it too.
So here I am nearly a week later and still in bed. Poor Tony is carrying the can on everything around the house and looking after the animals and he is not too good either.

The only upside of this is I am surely losing some weight if not there will be trouble.
I am getting to the stage if I see another cup of chicken noodle soup I will start clucking.

Ok so there you are this is the reason no one has heard from me for a week.
I am going back to the docs in the morning if I am not any better as I feel it starting to be very bad on my chest.
Thank god I don't smoke anymore.

Fingers crossed none of you lot get this dose it is a real bad one.

I bet your soooooooo glad I shared this lot of rubbish waffle with you.

I take it they don't give the FLU JAB out there then :???:  :???:

Seriously if you have the flu then I feel really sorry, cos our women flu is millions times worse than that 'cold' the men get and then claim it's the man flu
I'll stop moaning, when you give me a pay rise this :arms: big

Poor Rose! I know how you feel. I have had the same as you last week (I was off work on holiday dammn !!!). It has knocked me for six! I don't want to go to the doctor's for antibiotics as I had them 3 times last year. I am starting to improve, still feel chesty, have a cough and bad headache but definitely on the mend. 10th day tomorrow, it must be going soon. Lemon and honey drinks did help a bit.
and Susie, I had a 'flu jab. I don't think they work as well as they use too!
Get Well Soon Ladyrose! We miss the gossip!

Hi Rose

It's typical of these illnesses to crop up when you least want them to, how sad!

I came down with some hideous virus 5 days into our Menorcan Christmas holiday, and it took 4-5 weeks to go. In fact I'm not sure it's disappeared completely, even now!

Back home, my doctor wouldn't give me antibiotics, as she said it hadn't gone to my chest, despite the fact that I'd had a hacking, productive cough (I'll spare you the details) for 3 weeks, and my nose was still producing mucus like a tap! Instead, she gave me a steroid nasal spray, exactly like the one I have for hay-fever, and the only thing this did was give me nosebleeds, in addition to all my other ailments!

I keep saying I'm never going back to the docs, unless I've got a limb hanging off, as it's a waste of time (for me), and this just proves my point!

Anyway, I hope you're on the road to recovery now Rose!

Thanks everyone
This is day 10 and I am only just starting to feel a little better.
Got up this morning but my head is still spinning.
I must say I have never had a dose that floored me to this extent before.
Maybe it is the Plague

Anyhow for sure I am on the mend eventually I hope none of you MEN get it because the poor women in your life will need ear plugs
Tony has just gone back to bed this morning GOD HELP ME !!!!!

Thanks again for your kind comments
