So now that I am up and around again I realised I had to get my hair colour done.
I went to my usual place in Mahon on Monday.
As I was sat in my chair I saw an elderly lady come into the salon.
Small frail looking like the wind could blow her over she bundled herself into a chair.
I may add she had made this journey all by herself and her age was at least 90

She wore roaring red lipstick and now was in the process of getting her nails done.
Roaring red again to match her lipstick.

She bent over to get something from her handbag and it turned out it was shampoo.
I never before heard of clients bringing their own shampoo.

When I asked the girl who was doing my hair what was happening she told me that, the ladies do not want to pay the €1 for shampoo and most of them do not even have their hair blow dried and it saves another €4.

I watched the elderly woman a while longer (she got her hair dried) and when she was finished she sat in front of the mirror as she put on the rest of her makeup.
I must say the Menorca women seem to really look after themselves.
Next time any of you ladies go to the hairdresser try asking can you bring your own shampoo and that you don't want it dried I WONDER WHAT THEY WOULD SAY
