Jellyfish 2018

Hiya. Day 3 for us and seen more jellyfish fish than any previous years sa caleta day 1. Some really big ones in the shallows son Bou day 2 just one Arenal day 3 thousands and with huge long tenticals. Warning flag was flying hardly anybody in the sea but it had been very windy so may of blown them in overnight

Santandria today thankfully no jellyfish Water really clear and none anywhere

Not much you can do about them, but it sound like you have a car so pick your beaches if you can with the wind blowing out to sea, that what we always did.

If you kill all the sharks, tuna & other big fish that feed on them, what do you expect!

Totally agree, anytime I go diving in menorca there is a total lack of fish. Makes me laugh when you see all the little boats out at sea with fishing line over the side, there wasting their time really.

We see a few jellyfish every year and my son got stung a few years back. I would be interested to know how people treat stings. The advice on line is contradictory.

Vinegar works very well on the sting

The nhs advises to scrape off any tentacles stuck in the skin off with a bank card or similar and bathe with sea water then soak in hot water as hot as can be tollerated or place hot towels on
