Apologies if posted before but stumbled across this fantastic range of old Menorca beach and resort pics dating back decades....

Love the aerial shots of Cala n porter and Santa Tomas showing how much things have developed in the space of a relatively short time. Also Galdana with no development in 1969. Hopefully they bring back yesteryear holiday memories for some!

Amazed there was a wall, seemingly with different boundaries, around the Son Bou basilica all those years ago. A local landowner, rather than ‘government’?

Just seen this thread,
A lovely photo ( towards the end ) of the illa den colom............

Showing Roberto Esbert Pons proudly standing in the water next to his little white boat the ' mv Arc ', in his trademark baggy shorts ( and no doubt a cigar not far away).
There is a plaque dedicated to him on the slipway in Es Grau , for his services of ferrying people back and forth. I have a photo of the plaque , I will try to post it.

I still have the photo of me in his boat on my first trip in 1968 using his service . I am 60 now ! ! ! !

Untill 2014 the remains of the 'mv Arc ' was lying in somebodys front garden in Es Grau.

So below are .... the plaque , Roberto and me 1968, and the original photo from this thread.............. phew.
