Flying between Balearic islands

Post by Sue Adderley » December 12th, 2020, 7:13 pm

Hi

Got flight booked to Palma next Saturday (arriving just before midday) and onward flight to Mahon at 9pm.

Booked our PCR tests for Wednesday, based on the flight into Palma (72 hours before), but I’m now wondering if I should’ve booked them for Thursday, as I’m not sure what the rules are for flying between the islands with regards to PCR tests.

Can anyone shed any light on this please? I would be a disaster if we were refused entry into Menorca because our test results were a few hours outside the 72 hours :axe:

Cheers

Sue

As I understand things, you dont need a test to travel between the islands. If you land In Spain within 72hrs of having your Covid test you should be fine.

Many thanks for your replies!

Well I’ve now checked in for both sets of flights, so if we’re Covid-free on Wednesday it’ll be happy days (fingers crossed)!

Over the years we’ve faced various challenges getting to the island, especially at Christmas due to bad weather (and of course, dronegate) and we even had a volcano eruption one Easter, but this year has obviously overshadowed everything!

Staying positive and looking forward to some long coastal walks in the sunshine

Cheers everyone :partyman: hope you all have a fab Christmas :barmy:

I’m well happy this morning, as Iberia have put an earlier flight on between the islands, so now we won’t have to spend the whole day in Palma  We’ll (hopefully) arrive mid afternoon, get off the plane, straight to Mercadona, home, unpack, disco nap, out for an evening meal and relaaaaaaxxxxx!
