Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededit's nothing like benidorm it's a family resort thats busier then other places on menorca,as for a birthday cake if you ask in bettabuy supermercado they are always very helpful,it's across the road to the rear of topmarket
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededWe stayed in Los Delfines a few years ago and you could order a cake from reception. We were going to do it for our dughter but decided it would probably be too big for the five of us. Don't think they were ridiculously expensive though and we couldn't find anywhere else that did proper birthday cakes - ended up with a chocolate cake from the supermarket. We did consider taking one with us but weren't sure if we'd be allowed through security with it.

Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededThe Bettabuy supermarket has a bakery inside and sold some lovely looking cakes, however I don't know about a kiddies themed cake if thats what your after, I've been to benidorm twice recently on a lads holiday, and this year will be my 3rd visit to Cala N Forcat with my family, I wouldn't take my family to Benidorm, hope that tells the story about CnF, different class for young families I guarantee you WILL want to go back and so will your child, Enjoy and have fun.
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededI went into a bakery in Es Castell a few years ago to order a cake for someone's birthday, i am not very good with Spanish, but i managed to get across what i wanted, they just need a day or two's notice to make it.
I only let him think he's in charge.
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededThanks all for your help and reassurance.
Got a new problem now booked holiday and we got our dates mixed up and Finn needs to be back at school on Thursday and we dont land till the Friday and this little mistake going to cost us 400 to change holiday by a week (cheapest way of doing it) and another 35.00 per person in admin fees. Im a little mad but what can ya do its our own stupid fault.
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededWe always have taken our boys out of school for holidays, but made sure that the school provided work for them to do while away........
Before you do anything try talking to the school................you never know ......its only a day !!! Penduke
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededWe always took our children out of school, it is so much cheaper, we did get permission first, and as Des has said, it is only a couple of days.
I only let him think he's in charge.
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededWish we could for the sake of 2 days but at Finns school and most others in Leeds you are allowed up to 10 days which the school would authorise but under no circumstances are these days to be at the beginning of school year (September)
My hubby just wants to ring up school saying he is sick but i really dont want to as it means asking Finn to fib on his return which is just plain wrong in my eyes. The extra money is just going to have to be found (beans on toast for tea me thinks) what i am upset about is the excessive admin fee being charged per person. That said cant wait to be back in Menorca its certainly worth every penny.
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededBefore changing the flights, why don't you explain to the school and see what they say, might be worth asking, good luck.
I only let him think he's in charge.
Re: Hi Hotel Los Delfines-area help-bakery neededYes totally agree with Des and Denise, check with the school first before amending things. Just plead a mix up and for one bl%%%y day, especially at the start of a new term year. Time the school authorities opened up their eyes and got the blinkers off.
Good luck. Alan
